Greenwich Witch (Vi Palmer, 1922): free piano MIDI
A note-for-note transcription of Vi Palmer’s 1922 recording, with the left and right hands on separate tracks. The recording is in the US public domain, and the MIDI is free to use however you like.
About the piece
Zez Confrey titled the piece as a pun on New York's bohemian Greenwich Village.
How it was made
PianoToMIDI listened to the old record and wrote down every note it heard, with its timing and how hard it was played, then split the notes between the hands. Nobody corrected it by hand, so expect the odd wrong note where the record is worn or the playing is dense.
